Newsletter 4/2016: Novelization of the Court Fee Act and the Registry of Contracts

In this Newsletter No. 4/2016 we pay attention to novelization of the Act No. 549/1991 Coll., on Court Fees (Act No. 161/2016 Coll.), which brings simplification and reduction in the costs of establishment of a simple limited liability company. Regarding the fact that a limited liability company is the most widespread type of legal entity, the new legislation in this area is of great importance.

Second part of the Newsletter is devoted to the new act of registry of contracts that establishes a registry of contracts, which is accessible to the public, and imbeds a new obligation of so called obligatory entities (listed in the act) to publish their contracts, prescribed by law, in this registry. Although the main aim of the new act is to provide for public control of spending of public funds and assets, this law should also be taken into the account by business (private) entities that enter into contractual relations with obligatory entities, as the publication duty and other duties according to the new act will also apply to them.
